In the lecture, Associate Professor Satoshi Ishikawa presented research on the synthesis of carboxylic acids via selective oxidation reactions based on catalysis chemistry and materials synthesis, as well as on the design and development of novel composite metal oxide solid catalysts for acid-catalyzed reactions.

On the day of the event, many participants—primarily students from laboratories related to catalysis chemistry—attended the lecture. During the question-and-answer session, lively and in-depth discussions continued well beyond the scheduled time.

Furthermore, inspired by this lecture, a research collaboration has been initiated between Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Shuhei Yasuda and Associate Professor Satoshi Ishikawa. Joint efforts are currently underway toward the development of new materials and novel catalytic reactions, and further progress in future research is highly anticipated.

On 2nd June, 2025, the 1st Catalysis Chemistry Lecture entitled “Solid-State Catalytic Functions Arising from Local Structures” was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the General Education and Research Building, Gofuku Campus.
