In 2021, University of Toyama established the \u201cCarbon Neutral Material Conversion Research Center\u201d in School of Engineering to promote basic and applied research on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and has disseminated results to the world that contribute to carbon neutrality, such as technologies to convert carbon dioxide into value-added materials.\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u3000In recent years, as various efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and GX (Green Transformation), such as the shift from fossil fuels to clean energy, have accelerated around the world, University of Toyama has developmentally reorganized the \u201cCarbon-Neutral Material Conversion Research Center\u201d and established the \u201c&nbsp;Center for Carbon Neutral Creation Research\u201d in the Organization for Promotion of Research, in February 2024, to promote the societal translation of research results and the development of green human resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u3000The Center was reorganized as a university-wide organization, adding the School of Economics to the School of Engineering, Science and Sustainable Design, and acts as the University&#8217;s hub for carbon neutral research. The Center consists of three divisions: the Research and Development Division, the Social Implementation Division and the Human Resources Development Division and researchers from each School are assigned to their respective divisions. We contribute to achieve carbon neutrality with the \u201ccomprehensive knowledge\u201d of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u3000Moreover, with a view of further industry-academia-government collaboration and acquisition of external funds in the future, we will work in cooperation with related departments to support University&#8217;s strengths including collaboration in different fields, and to develop human resources in carbon neutral-related fields.
